What a commute home today. It started when I went out to the car and it was a block of ice. I didn’t have an ice scraper in my car, so I sat there and waited for it to warm up. Then I started home. It was 32* and sleeting and all I could think of was The Boy getting home in his rear wheel drive car. I texted him when I got home and told him that he best call me when he got home to let me know that he did make it safely.
So, tonight I bit the Living Room and cleaned the bathrooms again. The Boys (guest) bathroom hasn’t been used, but I did a light cleaning over it anyway. I cleaned my bathroom and swept the floor. Easy peasy. Then I started on the living room.
I cleaned the windows, the ceiling fan, the mirror and polished all the furniture and vacuumed. All the “crap” was put away and now I have a very presentable house. It feels good to be home and feel like it smells nice and that I can have people over and not be embarrassed by the house being so dirty. So, here are the final results.
My goal was to have the dog crate moved out, but Baby has been having issues with the trash cans or climbing on the table beside the couch and pulling things off onto the floor. So, for right now, she goes back in the crate when I leave and it means that I come home right after work instead of working late.
I wanted to show this table up close. I’ve always wanted a place to show my family pictures. This table, if you remember, came from our old hospital and so it has a lot of sentimental value for me.
So, now that I have the house in order, next is my craft room. I’ve really been praying about this room because I’ve thought of scaling down the craft part and turning it back into a guest room. But I love my crafts and need to bite the bullet and just organize the craft part and keep it just what it is.
Therefore, the next time I go to Atlanta, I’m going to Ikea and buy a table top and shelves and create something that has great storage and not the ugly desk that are in there now. So, my goals are set before me and this next bite will be a little (LOT) bigger.
My final bite will be the garage. I’ve given The Boy a deadline of the end of the month to get his “friends” car parts and his two sets of tires out of the garage. I also need to put some items on craigslist and sell them.
Well, there you have it. Now, I’m looking at another list to get Melissa organized. Menu planning, keeping my calendar up to date and getting out of the house to do things I love.
WOW, this elephant was not as big as I thought and I’m so glad that I took that first bite.

Melissa, Thanks for the comment on my blog! I read your last couple of posts and it's funny 'cause it is snowing here today and I am cleaning out drawers that have needed cleaning for years. (Yes, I admit it!)
Your house looks great. Mine is in need of an intervention! I'm afraid I might get picked to be on hoarder's TV show if I don't clean soon! :)
Bite the elephant!!
The living room looks great and I am so proud of you. I can hardly wait to see the craft room and I know Daddy can hardly wait to see the garage. He would even go help you I am sure. You ought to add the upstairs to The Boys list. Love you, Mama
