I have to share this picture with you.
Yes, that says 18* at 7:03 a.m. Let me just say that when I went out to warm my car up this morning, it was BRRRRR cold. That means it was beyond cold today. And that also means that I am even more excited about it being SUMMER!!
To keep you up to date on my elephant, I have kept up the bites, although they are more like licks right now. HA! I have kept up with vacuuming, dusting and laundry. I’ve cleaned the bathrooms and mopped the floors. But more importantly, I’ve made my bed each morning and kept the kitchen table clear. That is the biggest achievement. And if someone dropped over right now I would, well, I would question them because it’s 9:12 p.m., but if I knew them, I wouldn’t mind them coming in. ![]()
I wanted to share a new idea with you. I sometimes listen to Moody Radio at work. I love Midday Connection. They have great programs and inspire you and always move you forward in your relationship with God. Today I picked some old programs to listen to on Art Journaling. I’ve never heard about this idea before, but it’s not that foreign for any of us if we scrapbook, blog or journal.
Tamara Peterson learned, over time, that she just needed to be able to record her story in her own way through color, textures, symbols and pictures. Tamara loves teaching others this way to communicate their stories while ultimately drawing them closer to God. She believes that this style of creative journaling will help springboard people into seeing who God created them to be. Her passion is to ultimately help others to think of themselves as creative and live out their lives as the person God created them to be, a fully creative being. (Taken from her website)
I’ve been searching tonight to show you some ideas of Art Journals and here is what I’ve come up with. It can be as simple or innate as you want it to be.

As you can see, you can make them as elaborate or as simple as you want. The following I got off Midday Connections radio program on Art Journaling. I encourage you to listen to the program.
There are no rules in Creative Art Journaling. Being creative is who we are. It’s how God created us to be. You don’t have to think hard to be creative. It’s in your being to be creative. Think of Creative Art Journaling as a way to worship God. Pray while you are journaling and ask God to reveal himself through your art.
Some ideas to prompt your journaling; When/where do you meet God? What makes your heart soar? How do you see yourself? How does God see you? What is your favorite Hymn? What is your favorite scripture? What did you do today?
One thing that I loved that Tamera did was journal her day to include receipts from movies, starbucks, happy meal cut outs, yogurt place cups cut outs. She used magazine pictures and scriptures. It’s amazing when you think about it all the things you can use. It’s your journal and it’s yours to create.
I am going to start mine this weekend. I want to get a clean journal. Oh, your journal can be anything. I’ve “g00gled” creative art journaling books and saw everything from old books made into journals to composition books. I’ve decided to start simple and see where it goes. Stay tuned and I will share with you.
Oh, another thing I started is reading through the bible chronologically. I started yesterday reading..well Genesis. That was the beginning. It’s something that I’ve wanted to do and was excited to start.
Can’t wait to share with you tomorrow. I’m getting my hair done. I can’t wait to show you what changes I’m in store for.

I loathe cold weather! It hurts my bones. HA! C-man doesn't like wearing jackets so it is always a challenge in the morning.
